About Belaray Dermatology

Belaray Dermatology is a full-service dermatology practice with two offices on Long Island, New York. Founded in 2006 by Dr. Amy Slear and Dr. Jeffrey Ellis, it brings medical, surgical, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatology together under one roof, along with Mohs skin cancer surgery and oculofacial plastic reconstruction.

Physician-Owned and Physician-Led

Belaray has been privately owned since it opened in 2006, with no private equity or venture capital ownership. That independence shapes how the practice is run: decisions are made by the physicians who treat patients, not by outside investors.

What We Do

Belaray has three dual board-certified Mohs surgeons and offers Mohs surgery with same-day repair, when reconstruction is appropriate, at both offices. Skin cancer near the eye is handled within the practice: a Belaray Mohs surgeon removes the cancer, and Dr. Rachel Ellis, an oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, performs the reconstruction, often during the same visit. Alongside skin cancer care, the practice provides general and medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and a full menu of cosmetic and laser treatments.
